The Ink Bar, Maidstone, Kent - Friday 21st March 2014

16th December 2013

Event 2014

So, as of next year, we’re back in the game, and you know what that means – we have a gig to announce!

This will be held at Ink Bar (previously Babylon Live Lounge), King Street, Maidstone, on Friday 21st March 2014 and we have been offered a cracking 4 band line up from Manchester’s finest independent metal label Rocksector Records.

Those bands are:

Babylon Fire

Babylon Fire is a band that refuses to jump on any bandwagon or follow any trend sweeping the Rock and Metal scene at the moment. Their aim is to carve out their own niche by creating a dynamic blend of a powerhouse rhythm section, heavy groove laden riffs, burning solos & infectious melodic vocals.

Built in 2007 on a foundation of Iron Maiden & Black Sabbath, extended into the territories of Stone Sour, Machine Head & Five Finger Death Punch, the band learned, developed & ultimately emerged with a signature sound which has helped them deliver an uncommonly mature & multi-dimensional debut with both hooks & depth.

Exit State

A video which reached the Number One spot on the Kerrang TV Chart Request Show, support slots with Michael Schenker, Reckless Love, Black Spiders, Blaze Bayley (Iron Maiden/Wolfsbane), Esoterica, plus a full UK Tour with Marseille, 2 successful album releases, a tour in Finland, a festival in Belgium & performances at Hard Rock Hell in the UK & Ibiza.... with all this you could be forgiven for thinking Exit State has been around for years. However, the early success of their high octane sound has been almost immediate, not least due to their crossover appeal to rock, metal, pop, punk, indie & alternative crowds alike.

Sweet Taste

Sweet Taste are a band based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, who blend funk, blues and soul with 60’s and 70’s rock and roll.

They released their debut, self titled, 3-track E.P in September 2009, to great public and critical acclaim. Since then they have adopted a relentless touring philosophy, which has molded them into one of Ireland’s most sought after live acts, as well as receiving extensive radio airplay in the U.K, Ireland and further overseas. They have played some of Northern Ireland’s premier rock venues, such as The Limelight, The Spring and Airbrake and The Empire Music hall.

They crossed the waters to play Hard Rock Hell in December 2011, where they shared the stage with Black Stone Cherry, Therapy?, The Quireboys, Crash Diet, and dozens more.

In February 2013, they signed with Rocksector Records UK : one of the U.K's most highly respected and successful independent record labels and management companies.

1st forming out of the ashes of Idiom, Asylum and PMG in 2009, Fantasist began playing many shows across the North West & UK, played mainstage at SOS Festival in Manchester in July 2010 and in November 2010 Fantasist signed with Rocksector Records for the release of debut album "Giggle Juice" on 7th March 2011. Says Mark Appleton of Rocksector "We're absolutely delighted to be working with Fantasist. Having followed their progress over the past several months & in noting their superb performance at SOS Festival, our initial thoughts were confirmed that here is a truly unique band, with an original & cleverly-crafted sound that promises to make some real waves in 2011".... that certainly proved to be the case when Fantasist made firstly a high impact return to SOS Festival in 2011 & were then booked for Bloodstock Festival in August 2011 earning this praise from reviewer Ian Hawkins of Cack Blabbath who placed Fantasist in his top 5 bands from Bloodstock.... "at every festival there is always one band that genuinely takes you aback.. brilliantly fun band.. brilliant to behold".

In 2012 Fantasist continued to work hard with numerous live shows including their debut on foreign soil as what proved to be many people's "band of the day" at Wizzfest in Belgium. Towards the end of the year an acoustic EP called "Suited & Muted" was released, whilst a 2nd full album was being written & recorded.

Now in 2013 the band's self-titled 2nd album - released in may - is already making waves and the band continue to entertain and surprise with their unique brand of humor and gusto.
